To us, any
teaching, outreach or service opportunities aid the disciple in growing
and maturing in their walk with the Lord. And we hope that walk is an
intentional pathway into the very presence of God himself.
With
these ideas in mind, virtually any group, men's or women's ministry,
etc. enables people to improve their discipleship quotient. As people
make their way on their spiritual pilgrimage we want to be poised to
always point them to their "next steps" in their growth cycle. The
path may likely not be exactly the same for any two people. Some
people have grown up in the church while many have not. Some go
through the steps A-B-C while others hop around, picking and choosing
events and experiences that appeal to their interests and what God may
be doing in their life at that particular time.
Our approach is
not to paint a broad stroke for everyone or to pigeon-hole people
neatly into categories. By the same token, we believe we have found
some core competencies that seem to be common denominators for our many
people who are experiencing deep spiritual growth. Among these are
activities like journaling (reading scriptures & using sermon notes
to meditate deeper on God's absolute truths and discovering ways to
implement those truths daily into our lives), being active in a Life
Group (a small group of 2-20 people that consistently and faithfully
meet for Bible study, prayer and fellowship) and regular attendance in
our weekend worship experiences (we were created to worship Him and our
services give us ample chances to exercise that).
If you want
to start down the path, but aren't sure how to begin please contact us
immediately. If you've already been walking the walk for a while but
aren't sure what your next step should be, let us know and we'll be
happy to provide some spiritual guidance. "As iron sharpens iron," we
look forward to spending much more time with each other inspiring us
all to draw nearer to the Master!
We also have several different seminars offered throught the year. If you would like to find-out when the next class is or have someone contact you about a plan, please fill-out the contact information below. When you are ready to begin serving, there are many volunteer areas to get involved with.
Starting Point
Have you started to investigate Jesus and who he is? Have you thought about being baptized? Are you interested in Central and finding out who God has called us to be as a church? Do you want Central to be your church home? Starting Point is the experience you need to help you get started in your relationship with Jesus and with your spiritual journey here at Central.
We believe that God has called us to transform the Stateline Area into a Christ-like community. This will only happen as we each step up in our Journey with Jesus and move forward. Take that next step today. Use the tear off slip to the right to register for Starting Point. Participants must attend both days during the two weeks the seminar takes place.
Connecting Point
Have you made a personal commitment to Jesus? Have you attended Starting Point and decided that Central is going to be your church home? Connecting point will help you to be able to get connected with a Life Group and / or one of our TNT groups, and show you how getting connected in relationships will help us in our journey with Jesus.
Serving Point
After starting our Journey with Jesus, and connecting with others on that Journey, He asks us to step up and lead. For Jesus, that means servant leadership. Serving point will bring out the best in each of us as we follow the example of leadership that Jesus called his disciples to follow. All leaders here at Central are expected to attend Serving Point once each calendar year.
Multiplying Point
When we've sold out to Jesus, connected with other believers, and we're leading others by serving, we're ready to step up to the deepest commitment in discipleship-to multiply. He wants us to take what we're experiencing in our Journey with Him, and share it with others. He's called us to make disciples, who can make disciples, who can make disciples. Multiplying Point will provide tools and training that will empower you to be able to lead others through the discipleship journey here at Central.
